Maya, the beloved pug of PewDiePie, passed away at the age of 17.
The grieving 33-year-old YouTuber paid tribute to his companion earlier this week on Instagram.
PewDiePie, whose real name is Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg, expressed gratitude to the dog for “brightening my days” in a series of photos depicting their time together over the years.
“I said goodbye to my little Maya this morning,” PewDiePie wrote. While 17 years is a lengthy span for a pug, it never felt like enough time.

I never thought I could love a dog as deeply as I loved her.
“Thank you for the amazing moments we shared, for always bringing joy to my days, and for bringing Marzia and me closer.
Maya, you will forever be in my heart, and I already miss you greatly.
The YouTube sensation has been open about Maya’s health struggles, including the dog’s early diagnosis of dementia.
“We’ll see how she progresses,” he mentioned in a previous video. Maya, on the other hand, has “dementies.” She’s quite old. Her mental faculties are declining a bit.
PewDiePie’s estimated net worth is $30 million (£24.7 million).
He holds the highest number of YouTube subscribers globally (111 million), and in 2016, Time magazine recognized him as one of the most influential individuals.
